Format hard drive from bios

Windows installed fine in the SSD. Entered the BIOS to set the SSD as 1st Boot priority but the BIOS has not detected it. The only boot devices shown in the BIOS are the CD/DVD Rom and the Replaceable Device.Device Manager shows the SSD connected.I connected the the HDD which still has Windows installed but I get the message to 'Reboot and Select Boot Media' even though the SSD is still connected.Any help would be most appreciated.Just noticed while safe removing USB memory stick that the SSD shows as a removable drive C:!!!! I'm confused. The SSD is a standard 2.5' SATA SSD. It's not an M.2. So why the need for a PCI-e controller card?

How to bend in 3ds max. Don't you have any SATA connections left on the motherboard? The motherboard has 5 SATA connectors which are all occupied by 2 HDD, 2ROM and 1 Hot swap HDD. I mistakenly perhaps thought that by fitting a SSD with Windows only would make booting up quicker as with the HDD boot up can take up to 1 1/2 minutes and the only solution I have found to resolve the boot up time is a clean install of Windows.
