Far Cry 3 Multiplayer Coop
We're getting to that point in the console life cycle where not only is it possible to coax stunningly beautiful visuals out of the Xbox 360, developers are also finding time to create split screen modes like it ain't no thing. We could have played Far Cry 3's co-op over Live, but we thought we'd experiment with bisecting the screen and seeing how it holds up.The answer is pretty well. We managed to amuse ourselves for a good 30 minutes while squinting at half the television each. Here are the highlights of our island romp complete with blowtorch death, quad bikes and cardboard boxes stuffed with explosives.

When in the open world, bring up the main menu and scroll over to the 'online' icon that looks like a circular crosshair. Next to 'Arcade' is a huge button to 'Invite Friends.' . Select that option and your platform's friends list should appear. Select the name of the friend you wish to play with.
Your friend will be sent an invitation, and they must accept it via the main menu of their console. On PS4, it will show up as a notification that you can select to begin playing.Why Isn't Far Cry Coop Mode Working?If you've turned off 'opt-in' co-op in the options menu, you'll only be able to send invites and won't receive invites from others.
If the steps above aren't working as described, make sure that feature is turned on.Your buddy will load into the map within a few minutes, and you'll be able to enjoy the entire campaign together including open-world traversal and story missions. As far as we're aware, however, it should be noted that progression during co-op sessions only applies to the host player.
In other words, you'll have to run through two sessions to totally complete each co-op mission for both players: one with you as the host and one with your friend as the host. DOES 'FAR CRY 5' HAVE SPLIT-SCREEN CO-OP?No.
Far Cry 5 co-op is online-only. It's highly unlikely that Ubisoft will implement a couch co-op feature for this game.
If it were possible, it would've been available at launch. DOES 'FAR CRY 5' HAVE COMPETITIVE MULTIPLAYER?The only PvP multiplayer options are in Far Cry Arcade, which means the maps are fan created. There isn't truly official support for PvP, but there are lots of cool map remakes in all the expected modes.
IS THERE A FREE TRIAL?As far as we know, there is no free trial co-op demo for Far Cry 5. Far Cry 4 let friends enjoy a few hours of co-op for free on PS4 with the Keys To Kyrat pass, but that wasn't made available this time. Both players will have to own full copies of Far Cry 5 and have online access to enjoy co-op.Far Cry 5 is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
