Hi all, this fix might work for you if you have Nvidia Optimus enabled laptop. For some reason the game won't use the dedicated video card, hence the performance issue.I have both Barbarian Invasion and Alexander expansions, works with them too.I have Steam version of the game, but before i had disc version, had the same problems. This fix i found it on Nvidia forums, credit goes there.Only drawbacks are there will be no fire effects for arrows and onagers. At least that's what i experienced.Just download this dll file, add it to Rome TW main folder.

Welcome to!A subreddit for all of those who love the Total War series. DEI saved my Rome 2 Experience.Absolutely.

I tried Rome 2 vanilla and with Radious, and I just lost interest quickly.Fallen Eagles does a pretty good job for Attila.I hadn't heard of this? Is it developed by someone else but still goes for historical realism as much as possible? But even then, it never moved as slow as RTW1 or MTW2, which I thoroughly enjoyed since TW was relaxing.Dude, fucking same. I went back to Medieval 2 with the Broken Crescent mod and THOROUGHLY enjoyed how relaxing it is just sending out my merchants and building my cities slowly. The atmosphere between those games and post Rome 2 games are so different, and while I enjoy the newer games they just don't have that same excellent pacing I get out of old Total War. Basically everything on the new engine, I play a lot of mods so it's hard to know what vanilla is like for everything past Rome 1, but R2 and Attila where really bad with the army spam.

3 battles every turn, Small Germanic tribes have the ability to recover from the dozens of horrific defeats in a small span of time. Every single war is like Vietnam.A larger number of armies felt alright in Empire and Napoleon, but with all the factions in RTW and Attila it's becomes unfun quick.Medieval 2 and Rome had there problems, but everything felt alot more deliberate during the whole campaign, A lot more chess and a lot less hungry hungry hippos.
