It makes playing as an infiltrator on insanity frustrating, since I don't have access to a Valiant, and I'm too lazy to save money to buy the BW. I often spend time conserving what limited ammunition I have, waiting for my allies powers to recharge before they let loose with more overloads.I haven't ever used a BW, mostly because the random system for items in Multiplayer has been a bitch to me over the past 9 months I've been playing it, and I never bothered to finish ME3 with my infiltrator Shepard. However, I have come to the conclusion that the Black Widow is much, MUCH better than the normal widow.
